JSNE Youth presentation at WHEATON COLLEGE
April 2006 The following five students made great presentations about the religion of Jainism to two classes at Wheaton College, Norton, Mass:
The topics of the presentation were "Introduction Jainism" and "Religion & Animals" to the class of World Religions and Religion & Animals. They did a great job presenting and addressing questions and the audience was very impressed as evidenced by the certificates awarded to them by Ms. Barbara Darling-Smith, Assistant Professor of Religion, Wheaton College. The certificate states "They did a fabulous job! They had designed two impressive and sophisticated Power Point presentations, and they skillfully orchestrated the oral portion of the presentations so that each member of the group had a chance to participate. They consulted with me beforehand about the content of my two courses, and then tailored their information carefully to the different subjects of the two classes. Following their presentations, in both classes, they fielded questions from my college students courageously, honestly, and knowledgeably. Not only were they not intimidated by the college students; they did an outstanding job of communicating with my students. My students were so impressed, as was I." Our sincere thanks to Pathshala teachers and parents for their dedicated efforts. It was well done and we are sure that this is just the beginning. Kid's Essay Competition
